Two days with each parent, then an alternating three-day weekend — no one goes more than three days without seeing the kids.
How the 2-2-3 schedule works
Parent A has Monday–Tuesday, Parent B has Wednesday–Thursday, and the Friday–Sunday block alternates each week. The following week the weekday pairs swap, so both parents get weekday and weekend time.

The 2-2-3 schedule tends to fit younger children (roughly ages 3–10) whose parents live near each other and can handle frequent, low-friction handoffs.

What this schedule means for shared expenses
Time split and money split are separate decisions: a 50/50 schedule doesn't automatically make every cost 50/50. Clothing, activities, and school costs follow whatever your order or agreement says — and with kids moving between homes, receipts and reimbursements multiply. A shared, neutral ledger where each expense carries its receipt and agreed split keeps the schedule about the kids, not the money.
