Make it a live, shared calendar

A pattern is a great start — but it only prevents conflict when both homes see the same thing. CoParent Connect turns your rotation into one shared custody calendar both parents view live, with swap requests logged so "whose day is it?" is never a question.

The most common 50/50 custody schedules

Week-on / week-off is the simplest: one full week with each parent. Fewest handoffs, but longer stretches apart — often best for older kids. 2-2-3 rotates two days, two days, then a three-day weekend, so neither parent goes long without the children — popular for younger kids. 2-2-5-5 gives each parent the same two weekdays every week (predictable) with alternating five-day blocks. Alternating weekends (with one midweek visit) is common when one parent has a less flexible weekday schedule.

There's no single best pattern — the right one fits your work, the distance between homes, and your kids' ages. Try a few above to see how the time actually lands.
